Lunch Sandwich Ideas For Work

I know you must be excited to see what deliciousness awaits you.

So without further ado, here are some of my favorite lunch sandwich ideas for you –

1. Spicy Chicken Sandwich

This sandwich is perfect for anyone who loves a bit of spice in their life.

It’s easy to make and can be on the table in less than 30 minutes.

The recipe only requires a few simple ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry.

You can make the chicken patty or roasted chicken in advance and store it in the fridge until you’re ready to assemble the sandwich.

Tip – For juicy, flavorful chicken, cook it on a cast-iron skillet.

And add a slice of cheese to really take this sandwich to the next level.

You can add lettuce and tomato slices to this sandwich if you want.

2. Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Grilled cheese is the ultimate comfort food.

It’s warm, gooey, and oh-so satisfying.

And it makes for a perfect lunch at work.

I like to add a bit of garlic powder to the bread for extra flavor.

But you can skip it if you’re not a fan of garlic.

Note – Cheese can be tricky to grill, so use a good quality cheese that melts well.

3. BLAT Sandwich

Why make a BLT when you can make a BLAT?

That’s right; this sandwich has avocado instead of mayo.

You can prepare a simple avocado dip in advance and store it in the fridge.

Or you can just mash up a ripe avocado and spread it on the bread.

The creamy texture of the avocado pairs perfectly with the crisp bacon and juicy tomatoes.

4. Egg Salad Sandwich

Egg salad is another great option for lunch at work.

It’s also easy to make and can be made ahead of time.

Add some chopped celery and onion to your egg salad for more flavor and crunch.

But you can leave them out if you’re short on time.

5. Ham And Cheese Sandwich

This is a classic sandwich that needs no introduction.

It’s simple, tasty, and always a hit.

You can use any type of cheese you like, but I personally prefer Swiss cheese.

And for the bread, I like to use whole wheat bread.

6. Chutney Sandwich

This sandwich is for all the chutney lovers out there.

You can use any type of chutney you like, but sweet and savory chutneys generally work best.

This is a perfect sandwich for lunch as well as snacks.

And it doesn’t take too long to prepare this sandwich either.

You can prepare the chutney a day ahead or in the morning and keep it in the fridge.

The same can be used later for making the sandwiches.

Also, chutneys can stay fresh pretty long, so you can definitely consider this sandwich for lunch.

7. Bombay Masala Toast Sandwich

Coming from the streets of Mumbai, this sandwich is a favorite among many.

It’s a popular snack as well as a quick lunch option.

The recipe is very simple and can be made in under 30 minutes.

All you need is some bread, butter, veggies, and spicy potato mixture.

You can prepare the potato mixture in advance and store it in the fridge.

It stays good for 2-3 days.

As for assembling the sandwich, you can do it just before eating or pack it to go.

But yes, do toast this sandwich well, as the crispy texture is what makes it so good.

8. Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

Do I need to say anything about this sandwich?

I think not, as it’s another classic that needs no introduction.

This is probably the easiest sandwich to make on this list.

And it only takes a few minutes to prepare.

Just make sure you use fresh peanut butter and jelly.

You can add some chopped nuts or seeds to this sandwich for extra crunch.

9. Tuna Salad Sandwich

Any fish lovers out there?

If yes, then this sandwich is for you.

It’s hearty, delicious, and can be made in a quick time.

For this sandwich, you’ll need some canned tuna, mayo, diced celery, and chopped onion.

You can add some relish or pickles to this sandwich if you like.

If you don’t like tuna, you can use any other type of fish.

Or you can even make a salmon salad sandwich.

It tastes just as good.

10. Veggie Sandwich

This sandwich is for all vegetarians!

Again, a simple recipe that can be made in no time.

You’ll need some bread, veggies, cheese, and a veggie spread or mayo.

But you can use any type of spread you like.

As for the veggies, you can use anything you like.

But I personally prefer cucumber, tomato, and onion.

You can also add some sprouts or microgreens to this sandwich.

Cheese is optional, but I think it makes the sandwich more filling and delicious.

So, these were some of my favorite lunch sandwich ideas for work.

Things To Remember While Packing Your Sandwiches For Lunch

When it comes to packing your lunch for work, there are a few things you should keep in mind.

First, try to avoid packing sandwiches that are too complicated.

The last thing you want is to be fumbling with a lot of ingredients while you’re trying to eat lunch.

Second, consider how long your sandwich will need to stay fresh.

If you’re going to be eating lunch several hours after you’ve made your sandwich, you’ll need to use ingredients that will hold up well over time.

And finally, think about what type of bread will work best for your sandwich.

A hearty bread like sourdough or rye can be a great option for a heartier sandwich.

But if you’re looking for something light and airy, a white bread or roll may be a better choice.

There are a few more things you need to remember while packing your lunch for work.

So, let’s look at them below –

  1. Use quality fresh bread instead of old or stale bread.
  2. If you’re using deli meats, slice them thinly.
  3. Add some crunch to your sandwich with lettuce, cucumbers, or pickles.
  4. Spread your condiments evenly over the bread.
  5. Pack your sandwich tightly so that the ingredients don’t fall out.
  6. Wrap your sandwich in wax paper or aluminum foil to keep it fresh.
  7. Don’t grill or toast the sandwich at home. You can use the office microwave to warm it up if needed.

If you can follow these suggestions, I’m sure you’ll be able to pack a delicious lunch for work.

And now, let’s take a look at the FAQs related to lunch sandwiches.
